Fat Freezing Treatment Singapore

No Knife. No Liposuction Cannulas. No Needles.

Aiming to freeze those unwanted fats without undergoing surgery is one of the main reasons why people seek medical aesthetic procedures such as CoolSculpting Fat Freezzing Treatment.

Let us go take a closer look at this new fat freeze treatment by answering some commonly asked questions.

1. What is coolsculpting?

It is a non-invasive treatment which uses a cooling technology to induce localized fat reduction. It was the brainchild of the dermatologists at Harvard Medical School after their studies showed that fat cells are actually more responsive to cold temperature. It breaks down the fat cells while sparing surrounding tissues like the muscles, nerve fibers, and skin.

2. Does coolsculpting or fat freezing yield results similar to liposuction?

In comparison to other fat removal treatments, cryolipolysis does not involve damage in your skin.

The targeted fat cells during the whole treatment will undergo a process called apoptisis, or controlled cell death. This causes the wall of the fat cells to break down resulting to these fats to be released. The lymphatic system then takes these broken down fat cells to process them and then acts as a drainage system so that these will be eliminated from the body in the same fashion as the fats from food is removed. This process takes on a gradual manner protecting the lymphatic system from becoming overloaded.

Liposuction, on the other hand, is an invasive alternative which poses a risk to other surrounding tissues. Even the newer, laser liposuction does not have the same effect because cryolipolysis physically destroys the fat cells.

Being non-invasive, you can also expect less pain, risk and very minimal to no downtime. Results, being non-invasive will be less significant than liposuction and will require a series of sessions.

3. Am I a candidate for a CoolSculpting?

This procedure is not for people who are aiming to get rid of excess weight. But rather it is appropriate for anyone wanting to get rid of certain bulges that are immune to regular diet and exercise.

The ideal candidates for this procedure are within 10-20 pounds of their ideal body weight according to the BMI-body mass index.

4. What areas can CoolSculpting treat?

Cryolipolysis is usually used to treat the abdominal area and the back. It does not eradicate cellulite, however, it can help improve the appearance of muffin tops, bra bulges, or love handles.

5. How does the procedure feel like?

Once the tip of the machine comes in contact with your skin, you will initially feel a cool sensation which aids in promoting patient comfort. After the cooling sensation, it is then followed slight pressure sensation to bring the fat layer closer to the treatment probe.

You don’t have to worry about too much coolness in a specific spot because your therapist will regularly monitor the sensation that you are receiving. This is also a way for them to ensure your comfort as well as successful results.

6. Is it safe or painful?

This procedure is FDA approval, which also means that it is a safe and effective treatment. It is not painful but you may experience swelling, cramping, tingling, itching, numbness, and some tenderness on the area when touched. The numbness may persist for a few weeks after the treatment.

7. Can I go back to work after my Treatment?

You can actually resume with your normal activities right after treatment. In fact, it can even be considered a lunchtime procedure because you can simply get up and leave afterwards.

8. When will I see the results?

You may notice results as early as three weeks after treatment, but this will be far more noticeable after two months. The good thing about it is that it stimulates your body to continue to flush out excess fat cells for up to four months after treatment.

9. Are the results permanent?

Yes, the results of this procedure are permanent as it causes the fat cells to become crystallized and once they are destroyed these fat cells will no longer grow back. Some patients raise concerns about fats from other parts of the body relocating to the treated areas, but this type of compensation will not occur.

10. What are the aftercare instructions after the treatment?

Doctors will have their specific post-treatment guidelines but usually they would prescribe pain medications to treat soreness. Some may also recommend cold compress to reduce the amount of swelling. If the patient feels particularly sore, extra care would have to be used when washing the area in the following days.
