Smoothen Frown Lines, Surprise Lines & Crow’s Feet!

BOTOX® anti-wrinkle injection is for patients seeking a smoother appearance by temporarily minimizing the presence of crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes and forehead frown lines.

If you are interested in getting Botox injection treatment in Singapore, here are the basic facts that you need to know before getting this wrinkle removal treatment.

1. What is BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a short period of time (temporary).

It is a highly purified protein that is injected into the skin in order to relax the muscles that are responsible for wrinkle formation.

2. How much is the efficacy rate of BOTOX® anti-wrinkle injection?

In clinical trials, nearly 90% of the men and women surveyed rated the improvement in their brow lines as moderate to better.

3. Am I a candidate for a BOTOX® treatment?

Pregnant women, breastfeeding moms, those who plan to get pregnant soon, and those who are taking certain antibiotics are not advised to get BOTOX® anti-wrinkle injection. Further, those individuals with neuromuscular disorders and allergic reaction to BOTOX are also prohibited to receive the treatment.

4. Does the treatment hurt?

BOTOX® injection doesn’t really hurt because the needles used are actually much smaller than those used with regular injections. There may be some discomfort but it is tolerable.

5. What are the risks involved?

A common side effect that may be experienced are droopiness of the eyelid which could last for several days. But this is a rare occurrence. Bruising at the injection site is also possible.

You will lower the risks if you have it done by a certified doctor who is also particularly trained to perform this treatment.

6. Is it possible for your skin to be immune to BOTOX®?

Those who frequently get the treatment for two years may actually need less of it over time.

7. Will my lines and wrinkles worsen if treatment is not continued?

Fine lines and wrinkles will simply go back to their pre-treatment state within a few months if you don’t get touch-ups. It is the effect of continued muscle activity that can worsen the facial lines and wrinkle formation.

8. When will I see the results of the treatment?

The effects of BOTOX® can be evident after 3-5 days, but it will be more evident after a week.

It is not advisable to touch the treated area, but you can enhance the uptake of the treatment if you do expression exercises, such as smiling and frowning alternately for two hours.

9. How long does the result last?

The effects of the anti-wrinkle treatment can last around 4 to 6 months. So if you want to maintain the results, you may need to come back in for touch-ups.
